5 ways you can add a personal touch to your wedding

When it comes to planning your big day, there’s nothing more important than adding a personal touch to it.

Your wedding is the culmination of all your dreams and hard work – and now you’re going to get to celebrate them with the people who matter most in your life! But how do you make your big day feel more like YOU?

You can start by ensuring that everything from the decor to the color scheme to the food reflects your personality. Here are some ways you can create a personalized wedding experience:

1. Create your own invitation suite

Creating your own invitation suite is a great way to give a personal touch to your wedding! You can use this opportunity to include photos of you and your partner, and any other elements that are important to you.

You can also add a personal message to the invitation, letting guests know you’re excited and looking forward to celebrating with them!

2. Write your own vows

Writing your own vows is a wonderful way to create a personalized wedding ceremony and make it more meaningful for both you and your partner. There is nothing more meaningful than bringing out all those feelings about each other and putting them into words. Those are always my favorite moments because that’s when that true emotion and love for each other truly shows.

If you’re having trouble finding the right words to translate the feelings you carry for one another perfectly, look back at some precious moments you deeply cherish. What are some of your favorite memories? What has made you laugh together? How have you grown since becoming part of this relationship? You will find that writing your vows comes easily if you use these prompts as inspiration!

3. Meaningful Song For The Ceremony

There are so many songs out there that get used over and over again at weddings, but not all of them are perfect for every couple. If a particular song means something special in your relationship – perhaps it’s the melody that was playing when you met or one that reminds you of an extraordinary moment together; then it might be worth considering playing it during your ceremony. I once had a couple use the Jurassic Park movie theme song for their ceremony. I recognized it right away because I am a huge Jurassic Park fan. The groom loved Jurassic Park as well and dinosaurs. That song spoke to who they are , their theme and what they love and they wanted fans to recognize it as well.

4. Signature cocktails

Creating signature cocktails is another way to add a personal touch to your wedding. Whether you want something light and bubbly or dark and decadent, endless combinations of ingredients can be turned into delicious libations. One of my couples even got creative and added some cotton candy bombs into the cocktails to add color and some fun!

5. Don’t be afraid to be different

In a world where we are swamped by trends and ideas, it’s good to take a deeper look and ask yourself why. Why did I pick those colors? Why did I choose that style. Yes because you like it, but is it really you as well? Did your partner get to show a little bit about himself in the planning as too? My favorite weddings have been the ones where the couples truly show who they are and make it come alive. Do you have an all time favorite movie? I had a couple do an Alice in Wonderland theme and I thought it was really fun idea! The tea cups sets in their center pieces and everything was full of color!
